Praying With Others

Just wanted to share my excitement! Last night a group met who will be a core group for a new church plant. Of course my husband and I were at least 20+ years older than everyone else in the room- I was so energized by the meeting and fellowship with these young committed Christians. It was also amazing how God keeps bringing people into the group to help form a strong team to launch a new church.

We ate and had a few laughs. Then the pastor and wife formed a time where they presented their dream and vision from God. Read scripture and prayed together. Then the women went into another room and had a very sweet time of prayer together. I was so grateful as each young woman prayed- God’s Spirit led in deep and anointed prayers. Each young woman was committing to help work in this new ministry. It was an amazing time that God allowed in my life.

Yes- the next generation of young Christians are committed to God and are seeking His face! I look forward to the future ministry together with this group. The amazing thing is that God is tugging on other people’s hearts to join the core group in this future ministry. And I love the fact that there will be well-spent time preparing and gathering resources!

There is Vision when we pray together! There is Unity when we pray with others! It is my prayer that you are linked up with other praying people- Gods word promises if we pray in faith that our prayers will move mountains. I thought as we drove home last night- “the enemy will cause some stuff- try to put up road blocks” but then I just let that though go- because God is going before- behind- beside and alongside this group as in His time a new church start will sprout up and worship the King of Kings-

It is my prayer that we all join up together for the purpose of prayer. There is much God power- and wonder working power in the Blood of the Lamb-Jesus Christ.

Sunshine In My Soul = God’s Light

To me- each morning that I awaken and see the sun rays peeking through the blinds it is at that moment I look and say to God, “Alright Lord, You gave me another day- I know personally that Your mercies are new every day; so what is this day about? I am handing it back to You Lord so that I may see Your Glory, Know Your Wisdom and Will and Lord- may I hear your voice and walk in obedience!”

Yes-those are indeed my thoughts! The older I get the more I can recognize the fleeting moments on earth. After all “IN Christ” we are born to live and we live to die to self” and dying to self is vitally important so that you can attain the mind of Christ and know His presence each moment- Self consumed people are missing God’s greatness in the smallest ways. And lets face it- the smallest ways God works are the greatest lessons life lessons- Just read the New Testament – see how the parables links life to small things which demands HUGE OBEDIENCE!

In my days I long to hear, see, know, and smell the fragrance of Heaven. God loves me more than I can imagine. Guess what? He loves you the same. God has no favorites however some men and women would love to say they have more of God’s favor. Not So.

I don’t know how your days start! I have some health issues which could cause me to lay down and give up- But God will not allow that in me. He Is my Sunshine- my Joy, My Sustainer- My Healer and I humbly approach Him daily with Great Hope because He love me- Yes even me- I am nothing special, but I am His Child and He opens His arms daily and He loves me and hold me and restores my brain -(mindset) and deletes “stinking-thinking” so that I may DELIGHT in Him and praise Him. 

So, if you are downcast or in need of God’s Sunshine in Your Soul- Get outside- look towards the heavens- look around at the fall changes on the earth- then raise your hands and surrender to God. Ask Him to fill you with hope and peace- and to direct your ever moment for the rest of your day.

And the best part – if you do not call Him Lord, Lord- then you go to Him humbly, surrender all that you are- confessing all your sins- tell Him you want to turn from all wicked ways- and ask Him to be Your Lord, Your Savior- all this time believing that He is Jesus – the son of the Living God- and ask Him to cleanse you from all unrighteousness and give you a brand new heart and ask Him to control your minds thoughts.

Flip Flop Days are Behind-Time for a Blanket and Great Book

Loving the day and wrapped up in a warm blanket, reading a great book written by my friend Jennifer Kennedy Dean- called The Power of Small- “think small to live Large.”   http://www.prayinglife.org/catalog/powerofsmall.html

Anyway I am thinking the flip flops are going to get kicked off and that I am going to find those fluffy slippers in the closet. After such a high heat index in TN it is welcoming to have a few cooler days. That is why it seems so cold- because it has been extremely hot in the past few weeks of August and September.

Well today I am enjoying a quiet day immersed into this study- as well as re-reading a part of Live a Praying Life Bible study. Just blessed by the work God has imprinted into my friend Jennifer’s being. And I am so blessed somehow I skipped into her path unbeknownst to me that God would give us opportunity to communicate- And what a blessings this friend is!

Well- Take every opportunity you have in life to encourage one another and in what ever season you are in spiritually – just raise your hands towards heaven and lift your voice in praise toward Our Almighty Heavenly Father who deeply loves us-

And the challenge that struck me today from the book, The Power of Small    -           “Look for every opportunity to speak a word that sustains the weary. Stranger, family, friends. Speak them or write them. Let the power of small loose in your world through your prayers. Pray: “Let me speak with an instructed tongue.”

Love the Fall Season

There is sort of a “Quiet” that comes with the fall season- The grass in TN where we live withers and fades into a yellowish then tan color- the leaves on the trees begin to change to oranges, reds, yellow combinations- the hummingbirds take flight, and the cloud cover comes- and there is a little more rain and just a hush over the earth. The cotton fields are stripped and the plants die- It is as though the earth just rests for a while.

Today is just- rainy, quiet, and still.  So much so that I can sense God’s holiness all around me. A perfect time to reflect upon His Sweet Spirit.

Let me encourage you to get your Bible and read- then take time to pray. Ask God to guide you and direct your path! Let His word speak to you and show you the way to go. I am saying “fall into a Bible study and immerse yourself” and be filled with God’s goodness.

I can almost smell pumpkin pie and the hint of fresh pine as the seasons continue to revolve in time and space.

Many blessings to you where ever in the world you are- No matter God’s Spirit is in all places at all times- Look toward the heavens and call Him Lord Lord- and seek His face. Oh how He loves you and me-

How Are You?

Goodness- what a wonderful life! Joys, trials, tests, and blessings upon blessings! If you read our previous blog you read about needing a car and that we were praying for God’s timing. Well- NO- Not yet. And we are just fine to wait. However during these days we have sat in several cars and determined just the one we desire. So at least we have gotten to that point.

How are you? What is going on with you?  Last night and today Mitch was smoking meat outdoors in the smoker. I think he smoked a pork shoulder, beef brisket, and baby back ribs! All was going just wonderfully- we got everything off the smoker and wrapped in foil and into the over to slow cook most of the day.

I really thought I had done everything to keep the oven from getting the juices from the meet in it- I worked hard and was so proud until we started taking the meat out of the oven and there it was, juice and grease!!!

Let me tell you just what I did. Turned off the oven for a while- got busy taking care of the meet in preparation for putting it in the freezer for a later dinner we intend on having. Well so I thought- then did what I thought. I walked over to the oven and said – okay- self cleaning oven; I pushed the button.

Something alarming begin to happen- Oh my – the kitchen and entire house started filling up with smoke! Yes I said filling with smoke. We got all the fans on and got the oven to stop self-cleaning and opened many windows! There we were- so proud to get this meat smoked then at the end of the day- a little smoking in the house!

I am still smelling smoke- It sort of smells like the oven may have some issues- sort of a chemical smell. So tomorrow after church- oven cleaner- to finish cleaning burnt on grease and meat juices. Then after it is cleaned really good- then the test is- will it burn up when we turn it back on and fill the house with smoke-

Let me just say we have had a “Smoky” weekend with smoking meat and the smoke in the house- NO it is not fun to have a house stink and fill with smoke- However we are thankful for ceiling fans, and a table top fan I just bought on clearance at Walmart-Yep went out in the garage and opened up the box- pulled out the fan and thanked God that I had purchased that fan.

All the windows are still up- the fans are still going- but at least the meat is in the freezer, we are able to sit inside instead of the patio- and well- hoping by bedtime we can have a little more cleaner air- It is getting quiet cool and comfortable for TN weather. I am enjoying having all the windows up-

How are you? We are fine- and are just sort of kicking back thanking God for taking care of this day- even if it were smokey. Well- I don’t know about you, but there are some things in life I really don’t enjoy- and well I can say- I am sure we did not enjoy that oven incident however we have another memory created as we raced through the house turning on fans-opening windows, doors and shaking our head at just how much smoke an oven could produce in a matter of 10 minutes-

Colossians 3:15 New Life Version (NLV)  …… “Let the peace of Christ have power over your hearts. You were chosen as a part of His body. Always be thankful.”

Yes we are thankful we did not have a huge oven fire- we are thankful for fans, for being together as we worked on getting the air cleared of smoke.

Praying 4 A Car~

It has been an interesting journey recently- as Mitch and I think and pray about a newer car- we are obviously on the same page. We’d rather keep our old clunker than to go into debt. So we take our hopes and desires to the Lord and ask Him to guide us.

I would like to know “WHY” car prices cost about 1/5 of a price of a house? Wow- I am amazed by the huge prices on cars. 30,000 dollars for a new Honda? Not going there- not going to choose that price or car without God’s wisdom. He already knows our need- our hopes and desires. And we have constantly prayed with faith that God will open up avenues to get a better car, that does not leak oil or other fluids onto our garage floor.

What about you? How do you approach your wants- or desires? The car we desire to replace is of little value, however we entrust God as we wait on Him. Interestingly enough the first time we had a test drive in the Honda we desired- the sales-person said,  ”you can take this car home with you over night and then bring it back tomorrow, as long as you have full-coverage insurance.” WHOA- do you hear what I hear?

This salesperson is trained to make that comment- so psychologically perfect- taking a car- parking it in your garage- checking it out- driving it- and get attached to it enough to say Alright- we will take this one- we love it. Hark- psychology worked- proven to be the case over and over again when buying something.

Well- before diving into debt talk to God about the “need” and not just the want. He knows we need a car. And we also know He may not choose the same car we may think we really want. So we are prepared for His ultimate direction, and we will be grateful.

What are you asking God for? What is the direction God is leading you? Are you trusting God’s direction in your life. You may not need that newer, and better car but I am just saying- we must trust God, ask His opinion- ask Him to guide and direct us- and along life’s journey- ask Him to provide for our every need.

The is great need around the world. Believe me- we do not demand a lot of worldly things- we try not to compare ourselves to anyone- we thank God for every pair of flip flops and crumbs on our plates. You will not find me in the mall- just to look – because after a while “just looking” leads to credit card debt. So- if you know me- you will note that I do not rotate my clothes every year out of my closet- I add a couple of things and ask God to help me be content in what I have.

Putting a perspective in place: Just remember if you have a need- a wish – a desire to first sit down in a quiet place and pray about it. If it is a real need God will open the doors wide. I am asking God for a car- I believe supernaturally- in His own ways- own timing He will provide and I will be the happiest person in the world about my newer car- – However the car exiting out of the garage- oh my our family has created so many funny memories in that car- for which will always be etched in my mind-

Never Doubt God’s Power

Isaiah 51:15  For I am the LORD your God who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar —    His name is Yahweh of Hosts.              

I am reminded in this verse that God declares however He pleases to remind the world “WHO” He is and the importance of proclaiming Him as Lord, of this universe.  When I think about the seas and especially in the storms- the power of the waves, as they roar toward inland. Sometimes they are strong enough to knock you off your feet. Some ocean waves in storms are so strong they destroy buildings and properties.

Over and over I am reminded that God’s Power is the greatest my mind could ever imagine. I think about the strength of men, and there is not one that compares or come close to God’s power. No other human can create a universe, nor can they stir the seas and cause the waves of the seas to roar!

Ask yourself this question: “If I stood at the edge of a roaring sea- could I say, I believe God is in control of this world- the universe?” Do I believe God’s Power is over every living thing and that He created all living things? Do I believe God is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords?

When you pray to God of the Heavens, have you seen His Power, do you Know His Voice? He is powerful- call on His name in whatever situation you are in and ask for His help. Bow down and worship God, and call Him your God; and believe and trust in Him. Simply ask God to forgive you and ask Him to show you, “Who He Is.” God wants you to call Him God- because He said in the Ten Commands- “You should not have any other gods but ME.”

My Written Prayer Today- Make it Yours-

I know it has been a few days since I have updated this blog but here goes- A prayer I scripted that I wanted to share with you- Make it your prayer today or write your own prayer- Sometimes it is a wonderful assembly to write prayers and then keep them and read them later- it reflects God’s work in you- Be Blessed–

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.”Matthew 6:33 HCSB

“Lord-You must consume my soul- Send Your power– come down upon me

May I bow down and worship the King of Kings–Lord your power is great–Speak life into me Lord

Consume me- overpower me with the deep things of heaven

Increase in my thoughts –so that I can no longer be self consumed

May I be gripped by GODLY authority so much that as I am cleansed from my sin that I weep and wail over my own filthy rags- my gross unrighteousness

Holy God of this Universe I cry out to you- I can no longer trust this world- or the dark ways of the ungodly-

I am ever watchful- depending only on Your Divine correction of my steps-

Oh Lord- the closest circle of people in my life- compel them to draw nearer to you- and help All your people to stand- In Jesus name

And as I stand today- May Your power soar- and miracles begin -too numerous- for me to do anything but Praise Your Holy Name

Lord the huge circle of people who once called you Lord in the world- drive them to their knees- convict hearts and compel minds–

Your people have become strangers in our own lands- What was once good is now so polluted- minds are warped and there is no respect for creation

as You created it-

Thus Lord– I perceive and proclaim- in my mind and heart- that You are fully in control- Nothing comes and goes without your declaration -

I sense we are in Revelation days Lord- and the fine fragrance of Glory is in my nostrils- Lord breathe upon me- so that I may stand in this strange place and truly say, “NOTHING compares to You-”

In these days Test me, Try me, If there is any wicked way in me- let it depart from me and refine my inner most depths Lord-

May You shine as the noon day -as you separate Your people- from the polluted sin-driven world…those who spit at You and deny You-”

The canopy over me is you Lord- You carefully hide me under the shelter of Your Almighty wings- Your winds blow and take my breath away-

Lord as I journey- may I run fast towards the place of Victory ….so that my final sojourn – my devoted race is run with Divine favor from heaven.

Lord Your Ever-Present love- over-whelms me and it is with deep conviction that I come to You- Because truly I love You with all that is within me- Bless those who bless You Lord and obey your commands- There is None like You Lord- It is with Great praise and conviction that I come to You Lord- Face to Face- Yes Lord Face to face to witness Your Glorious Holy of Holies where there is a soothing balm that flows beyond

description and a place that surpasses all misconceptions of Who You Are…..and Your Greatness-

– Lord I come- In that Name of Jesus Christ- The Son of The Most High God–
