Creatures of Intentional Habit?

I was outside earlier and and watched a wasp that went in a crack in the bricks. After it came out I plugged the crack. Then came the wasp. For at least ten minutes that wasp kept flying around where it had gone in and come out. Something was not right and numerous times tried to get into the crack that was plugged with a stick.

I thought to myself that is sort of how our lives are. We go to church, work, and we pray at certain times and eat at certain times– even shop at the same stores. We just like what is routine. Eventually the wasp was free to enter the crack. I am sure there must be something stored in there that he was trying to find.

What are you looking for? Are you a creature of intention habit? Are you tired of your routine?

God has a plan. We must walk by faith and not by sight. God’s Spirit may lead us in another direction or re-direct our pathways for a purpose. Are you willing to change as He directs?

Isaiah 48:16-18

16 “Come near me and listen to this:
“From the first announcement I have not spoken in secret;
at the time it happens, I am there.”
And now the Sovereign LORD has sent me,
endowed with his Spirit.

17 This is what the LORD says—
your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:
“I am the LORD your God,
who teaches you what is best for you,
who directs you in the way you should go.

18 If only you had paid attention to my commands,
your peace would have been like a river,
your well-being like the waves of the sea.
