The Falling Walls of Jericho

Everyone has heard of Joshua and the battle of Jericho! But here is a link to read the entire book so that you can see the amazing journey as the “walls of Jericho came tumbling down.” The Book of Joshua continues the story of the Israelites after the exodus from Egypt. The book chronicles the approximately 20 years of Joshua’s leadership of the people after Moses anointed him at the end of Deuteronomy. The twenty-four chapter divisions of the Book of Joshua can be summarized as follows:

Chapters 1-12: Entering and conquering the Promised Land.
Chapters 13-22: Instructions for distributing the portions of the Promised Land.
Chapters 23-24: Joshua’s farewell address

Today as we think about the literal walls in Jericho I am beginning to ask God to use this in my personal life. What walls need to be torn down around me so that I can walk in the will of God. What walls need to crumble around the city, churches in our places where we live.

Beloved, I am ready to cross the Jordan River, walk in the promises of God and see a miracle-working God cause us all to awaken and trust in Him.
