This past Spring there were unusual amounts of rain. It rained and rained and flooded in places that were never flooded. People lost homes and property values declined where the flood waters caused damage. Several people said, “I don’t have flood insurance, because I don’t live in a flood zone.Summer is now in full swing! Heat indexes are killers and it has been unusually steamy. A notable thing is occurring in many of the beautifully landscaped lawns in our neighborhood. The green grass is diseased. The mounds on the golf course are also diseased-a fungus has hit most lawns. There are almost more patches of yellow and white grass than green in some lawns. It appears our beautiful green grass is now affected- It has spread throughout the neighborhood.When I reflect upon this fungus– the ugliness–the way it overtakes the beauty of lawns- can be transferred into our daily lives. Have you noticed that the people we hold most dear can influence us? Do you recognize how your react flows over into other people’s lives? It is like a fungus of negatives that cause others to see life through your eyes in this situation. How are you influencing others? Does The Spirit of Christ flow through you causing other people to sense God’s presence? Likely- whether or not you know it– you are either a positive image of Christ or a “fungus” that causes negative thoughts. How are you doing? Choose the way you respond and treat others. Negative attitudes spread– fungus over takes lives! Allow God to Shine His Light in you!Proverbs 27:19…”As water reflects a face, so a man’s heart reflects the man.”
