Always Pray!

1 Kings 9:3“The LORD said to him: “I have heard the prayer and plea you have made before me; I have consecrated this temple, which you have built, by putting my Name there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.”Yesterday was an awesome experience as I spent nearly four hours in a prayer room in a local church! Finally, God orchestrated an appointed time to pray for the needs of many people. In fact I was determined to call out every name and need! After all, I was there to intercede! In fact- I want to be in a place of prayer constantly. Perhaps not physically in that prayer room but in a mindset of prayer. God answers prayer!A noted response as I made my way into the prayer room is that after I signed in I made my way into a second room with three prayer closets with doors. Of course the doors had windows I am assuming to let people know the rooms were occupied. In that small room there was a lamp and a built in desk top with two baskets. The basket to the left was empty- the basket on the right was full of yellow cards. On each card was not just one request for prayer but sometimes up to six names. Wow- I was ready to seek the Lord and pray! I was excited to be a part of a working prayer ministry again! There were a few distractions at first but as I knelt in that room- I fell into God’s presence and began to praise Him. Because it was not in a private place such as home or in the car- I rather quietly praised Him and did not sing my usual praise to the Holy Father. Because this is a prayer room which many people use- I felt inhibited- like I had to pray quietly- as not to offend or disturb other people who came there to pray.God allowed a divine presence and as I whispered out names before Him– I sensed He answered many requests. As the final card was placed in the basket on the left and the basket on the right was empty- I praised God and thanked Him– as I opened the door to leave the prayer area- I thought- if only I could stay longer! As I walked outside to my car I was tired! It was as though I had done a days hard labor! But it was – a tired that was a result of persistence and a time of prayer that God’s power was evident and obvious! – I praised and thanked Him.How’s it going in the area of prayer? Do not miss out on God’s power and His willingness to answer prayer! Ephesians 6 is a powerful reminder about spiritual warfare! Read the entire chapter today and follow God’s instructions but right now the following verses will remind you to be alert and always keep on praying!

Ephesians 6:17-19

17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. 19Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel,
