No matter what time you wake up- the quiet of the morning is sweet. The grass glistens with the morning dew and the sun shines as if it is – “good morning” from the heavens. The unique thing is that God gives us each day. His mercy is “new” every morning. As I enjoy that first cup of coffee, I praise God and thank Him for another day. Sometimes I recall in the night time some of my mistakes of that day and oftentimes pray- then the next morning because God’s mercies are new- I can forget about yesterday and focus on “why” did God give me this day or what am I to do today that will please God. What is quiet? Quiet is precious. It is a time where we can pray, be still and hear from God. His Holy Spirit quickens us and tunes us into hearing His voice- if we will actually listen. The Bible is unique because it speaks or confirms what God’s Spirit is directing. Well, my morning is getting away from me and I have to get ready to meet a lady to work on a project for Minister’s wives. But- on my drive I will pray and worship God and proclaim Praise to Him. That is part of my quiet morning. I also love to keep the television upstairs in one room so that the house is quiet all the time. If there is a need to watch television then I have to purposefully go upstairs and shut the door! Be still and know that He is God- requires quiet. Don’t be afraid of quiet times. Meditate on God’s commands and seek Him. I have friends who sleep with the television on all night, keep it on all day- and watch shows while they cook or clean. That is great! I am not saying we cannot learn or gain knowledge from television shows but I prefer to tune my channels into God because nothing is greater than fellowshipping with God. Enjoy the Quiet of your Mornings and know that He is truly God. Psalm 90:14-16….. “Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days. Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, for as many years as we have seen trouble. May your deeds be shown to your servants, your splendor to their children.”
