Are You Fearless?

When my friend emailed me that her daughter and son-in-law and four children were in Baja, Mexico and at the epicenter of an earthquake a few days ago she was not fearful- but hopeful. She had a fearless tenacity to pray and believe that God would deliver her daughter and family back to safety.Indeed God took care of them because their vacation home was cracked open during the earthquake. There were 5 to 10 feet cracks with water shooting all around them. In a desert when water hits the ground it causes rivers. There they were not only trapped by the earthquake but the water tables were disturbed.Spring break was over and it was the day to head home to CA. But the earthquake stopped them in their plan to head home. There were several families on the same road as our friend’s daughter and family were. It took all morning and afternoon for them to all come together with a plan to get across the waters so that they all could head away from their destroyed properties. Someone had to be lead out fearlessly and with hope. Not very often to I hear someone say that they are “fearless.” It is always the opposite. Most often people say they are fearful instead. I love the verse in Ephesians 6 when Paul asks the saints to pray for him. What is asking prayer about. So that he can open his mouth and fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel and fearlessly as he should.Think about the term “fearless.” Does that describe anything about you? or are you in some sort of bondage that keep you filled with fear. I do not like to naturally stand up and speak in public. It does make me fear, but what I am learning is that it is alright as long as I fear with the knowledge that God will open my mouth because of His fearless and mighty Power. Is God directing your path? Are you fearless when it comes to declaring the mystery of the gospel? Even in prison Paul declared the gospel of Christ.Ephesians 6;19& 20 … “Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.”
