This morning we awoke God’s handiwork! Snow! I love it. I have missed the snow since moving from Utah and so I am so happy to see so much snow this morning. Of course all meeting are cancelled and life seems to come to a halt when it snows in TN. But we are definitely enjoying the beauty of the white landscape.
I have spent time also searching to find news updates concerning our friends in Hatian jails. I have found no updates- but lots of negative opinions.
Please remember to pray for our friends who are still in Haiti and in their jail system. I have read the horible stories of Haitian prisons and it is very tough there. Pray for these women and men so that the evils of prision will stay away. It is a place of horror! Unlike American prison- there are no guards that at least try to keep order. And in this time where the earthquake had hindered progress, please pray.
I know everyone has their opinion about these Baptist in jail- but now is not the time to crucify them for attempting to aid a nation in difficult times. I will say it looks like Haiti has an eariler issue with Baptist that has caused these 10 to reap Haitian anger- It’s like they are punishing these people for something that occured a couple years ago with regards to Haitian orphans.
2 Chronicles 6:18-20 (New International Version)
18 “But will God really dwell on earth with men? The heavens, even the highest heavens, cannot contain you. How much less this temple I have built! 19 Yet give attention to your servant’s prayer and his plea for mercy, O LORD my God. Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence. 20 May your eyes be open toward this temple day and night, this place of which you said you would put your Name there. May you hear the prayer your servant prays toward this place.
