We were saddened and shocked to read that our friends in Haiti were being detained and accused for “kidnapping”! We are acquainted with these people. Mitch worked with the two pastors.
I am sure most of you reading this blog have heard about the ten Americans in Haiti! They had great intentions but did not have the documents needed to transport 33 children to what they thought to be safe territory. Their hearts and mind were on the intent of rescuing children from tragedy yet they have found themselves in a tragic situation.
It is time today to pray for God’s mercy to prevail!
What is sad– What was meant for good turned into bad and what is meant for bad turns into good. 2/3 of the Haitian population are said to be practicing Voodoo- thus is this event with the CHRISTIAN missionaries spiritual warfare?
The truth is, our friends were caught up in issues that were dangerous. And yes, documents are vital when leaving the country for everyone. I believe God will use this to get Christians organized before they go abroad – they need to be educated to political systems. I believe good things will certainly prevail!
