Seeking Guidance?

 Psalm 25:4&5

4 Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths; 5 guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.We have decorated the house with trees that are trimmed beautifully, we have set the Christmas budget, we keep asking God to guide us and fill our hearts; we want our focus to upon our Savior- Jesus.I noted the last time I was in a store the frantic looks on the faces of the people there was  posed for Christmas shopping. “I’ve got to find a certain gift for my daughter or she will be so disappointed,” spoken loudly by an obvious mother who was attempting to please her child.I keep hearing on our local news how we must remember to tip the trash collectors, mail delivery lady, the neighbor, the lady at the nail and beauty salons, the ministers, and the list goes on! I am thankful for each of these people, but they already get paid and most of them get Christmas bonuses! However- a kind word or note is important this year.A friend today was telling me how at age 72 she and her husband are on social security. They just found out that their medical insurance was raising. They live on a very small income, and need assistance – they are “LIVING BY FAITH” literally! A ninety dollar raise two months ago was taken back and their health coverage went up almost that same amount. They live on social security with no other means; both unhealthy and have to pay the difference in the insurance.I was her sounding board today and we found a balance for her and she sought guidance from a health care provider. There is much stress and many cause for stress this season. Christmas shopping stresses- health insurance stresses- illnesses- all kinds of expectations are looming in every direction.May I suggest you re-read the scripture above. Ask God to guide you today.Let go of all the expectations of others and do what you can — I believe when we look upward and seek God’s guidance we will have great hope.We have a Savior; Jesus Christ!
