The Cross

 Acts 2:22-24 (New International Version)

22-“Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know.

23- “This man was handed over to you by God’s set purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men,  put him to death by nailing him to the cross.

24- “But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.”

This afternoon I was so tired from just a myriad of things that changed my schedule this past week, so I went upstairs to our family room and laid on the couch. I got comfortable and that is all I remember. I fell into a very deep sleep. You wonder how I know I was in a deep sleep? Because it took me a little time to actually awaken enough to get off the couch and downstairs.

But God is so good and is so alive and active in my life that as I was waking- I had a talk with God trying to wake up. I remember saying, Lord I praise you and thank you. Then I had a moment of instruction that was so vivid. The instruction from The Holy Spirit was this: I saw a large cross- on the top of the cross was heaven and at the bottom of the cross was hell– then I heard “the only way to heaven is by the cross.” Tell everyone.”

I woke up smiling because I had not blogged yet, so anyone who reads this will know-”the only way to heaven–eternal life with Christ is by the cross.”

You bet I will use this visual lesson from The Holy Spirit. I need to find an artist to make me the picture of what I have seen. I am thanking God for this reminder of the cross, and the reminder if I will tell others and show other people visually that they will understand.

Andrew Murray wrote… “Salvation comes through a cross and a crucified Christ.”
