Proverbs 15: vs 15 & 30
15 All the days of the oppressed are wretched,
but the cheerful heart has a continual feast.
30 A cheerful look brings joy to the heart,
and good news gives health to the bones.
Have you noticed some people just seem happy and full of cheer. There are a few of these people that I have noticed in life. They are genuinely “cheerful” and they also have a way of cheering up other people in their lives.
Oh to be “joyful” and full of cheer is certainly part of our lives. But to be truly lined up with God, it is He that will cheer our hearts in our times of trouble.
Recently I crossed paths with a very negative person. It was sickening to be around that person. They were always putting others down and speaking words that were not good. I had to pray for this person because they were dragging my spirit down with them. In the end I had to break fellowship with them but continued to pray for them.
What words are you giving others? Are you cheerful? If not why not? Take your Bible and find other verses that talk about a cheerful heart!
Take time to ask God to change the “tune” of your heart and give you a cheerful attitude which will make cheerful words be spoken! I hope and pray God will teach you the value of a “cheerful heart!”
Thomas A ‘Kempis said….”If thou bear the cross cheerfully, it will bear thee.
