Psalm 33
1- Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous;
it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
2- Praise the LORD with the harp;
make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
3- Sing to him a new song;
play skillfully, and shout for joy.
September 1-15 I read the entire book of Romans at least once a day. I was attempting to absorb God’s word so that when I attended a Bible Study on Romans I would be somewhat in tune with God through that particular scripture.
God’s amazing messages through Paul’s letter and ministry are profound. I continue to ask God “what’ is He saying to me as a part of that group of women. What am I to take away from this study. What does He want in me?
Meanwhile as I began to read Romans a tune kept playing in my head. Each time I read Romans I was compelled to go to the piano and attempt to transfer the tune from my heart onto the piano keyboard. It is like the emotions of the scripture are being played on the piano as the tune continues to grow in my heart.
Well, I suppose if God put a song/tune on David’s harp, He can put a tune in my heart that will forever be a reminder of the journey of Paul through the book of Romans.
When our daughter was home I played it for her and the response from her was exactly what I had imagined the tune to be. She began to recite a story– after all the tune is a dramatic piece. Thus, I was reminded “YES” this tune will carry me through the study of Romans. No, I am not a grand piano player at all, but it is God who places tunes in my soul that comes through the piano.
Do you have a song or tune in your heart, mind and soul that reminds you of a journey in scripture? God works in amazing ways to help us keep His word in our mind.
If you play music, sing or praise, let it be unto the Lord!
