Psalm 7
9- O righteous God,
who searches minds and hearts,
bring to an end the violence of the wicked
and make the righteous secure.
How many of us can pray and ask God to bring to an end the violence of the wicked? Every day Memphis news reports more shootings! It is mind-boggling but true. In just two days after the fourth of July the report came out, “21 shootings during the fourth of July weekend.”
Yes, authorities and citizens want the wickedness and murders to halt! But laws allow people to carry guns even as reports prove people are “trigger happy.” I heard last night an authority speak out against having guns on Beale Street. In fact there is a gun ban on Beale street! But this causes arguments from people who carry guns legally.
So, if you carry a gun; you cannot be served alcoholic beverages because when some people drink they are really “trigger happy.” And once the trigger is pulled and the bullet is released if a person dies it is murder. Was it just one second of anger or wrong thinking? Most of the time yes!
Well you may want to read the entire chapter of Psalm 7. Make it your cry today! Oh Lord, please bring to an end the violence of the wicked.
Psalm 7:1 “O LORD my God, I take refuge in you;
save and deliver me from all who pursue me…”
We must pray that God delivers us from the hand of the wicked and that they can know Christ!
