The “Gospel” is not something man made up! Paul is telling the people once again that they continue to desert Christ and turn back to the ways of man.
We must not doubt the gospel nor our decision to follow Christ. I find it amazing that Christians can decide that they are now Muslim or Mormon. The two do not merge completely with the “gospel of Christ.” Although there are men who have taken on the name of these religious groups in order to continue to proclaim the gospel of Christ. Just as there are other “religious people” in the churches that continually proclaim Christ’s gospel.
Read the verses below asking God to place your feet on a firm foundation and be reminded that the “gospel of Christ is NOT man made.”
Galatians 1:6-11 NIV
No Other Gospel
6- I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—
7-which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.
8-But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!
9-As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!
10-Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.
11- I want you to know, brothers, that the gospel I preached is not something that man made up.
C.S. Lewis said …..”I am perfectly convinced that whatever the gospels are they are not legends. I have read a great deal of legend and I am quite clear they are not that sort of thing….Christ bent down and scribbled in the dust with His finger. Nothing comes of this. No one has based any doctrine on it. And the act of inventing little irrelevant details to make an imaginary scene more convincing is purely a modern art.”
