God’s Favor Surrounds The Righteous

Psalm 5:11-12

11 But let all who take refuge in you be glad;
let them ever sing for joy.
Spread your protection over them,
that those who love your name may rejoice in you.

12 For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor
as with a shield.

It is very unlikely that you have not voiced a personal opinion such as, “that is my favorite person in the church, or “she is my favored friend.” I encourage you to do a word study today! Look up the word “favor” and read the scripture passages asking God to give you great understanding. What some people miss is, “God shows no favoitism,” nor are we to favor anything over God!

But the most exciting portion of scripture I found was verse 12- “O Lord, you bless the righteous- and surround them with your favor as with a shield.” Don’t miss the word “surely” because that was a word of faith spoken through David! His confidence was steady when it came talking with God.

Today- take time to pray and research the word favor in your Bible! I assure you that God’s favor is vitally important as we strive to live lives of righteousness! We must please God and break cycles of pleasing this world so we can find its favor! I desire God’s divine favor every day!

2 Corinthians 6:1&2

1As God’s fellow workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain. 2For he says,
In the time of my favor I heard you,
and in the day of salvation I helped you.”

I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.

Matthew Henry sums it up….”Grace is the free, undeserved goodness and favor of God to mankind.”
