Hebrews 1:14
14-Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?
Wow! How do I explain to you just how powerful The Spirit of Christ is through His Holy Father who sits on the Throne of Heaven?
If you will read the fist blog I wrote entitled, “When Angels Come” you will note this blog continues with that theme, just on another day!
Here we were, Easter Sunday in the car; our college daughter and me- heading out to the Nashville airport. Of course the first agenda we have as we get into the car is to pray. I always ask for divine protection and that God will send angels before, behind and beside our car- over and under to guide us safely to our destinations.
Well, we back out of the garage and head toward Nashville! As soon as we go to the end of the street, I turn the blinker on and head out on a small country setting, two lane road. Coming up from behind was a TN state patrol! “Oh great I shouted,” God is already watching over us! So he followed us until we got to the entrance ramp onto 40 East on our way toward Nashville.
The three hour trip one way to Nashville typically saves us 400.00 dollars on air fare and it is for that reason we travel to BNA in Nashville. We got as far as Jackson and it was nearing lunchtime so we decided to drive through Backyard Burger so our college student could have a great hamburger. Needless to say as we exited the 80B ramp we are followed by a man in a creepy car. I turn my blinker on, he turns his on, I turn right, he turns right. So I whispered a prayer– “LORD protect us from evil men.” Before I could say Amen- a Sheriffs car pulls in between the two of us and then the man following us turns the opposite direction! I said, “Oh God is so Good to us and hears our prayers in times of trouble.” Of course our daughter knows how many prayers I say per minute! I Believe we are to trust God and call on Him for every detail in our lives. In fact I have been asked by our kids many times, “Mom are you talking to me..?” and I will have to say, “No I was just praying out loud!”
So, the day goes on and we make it to Nashville. We make a couple of stops and then it is time to drop off our beautiful college daughter so she can get back to finish out her semester. After a few hugs and encouraging words there I go, back to the interstate 40 West!
Yes- these drives are taxing on me. I get tired and very sore from sitting but always willing to do what I need to do so we can financially make good decisions for airline travel. After all there is only one more year of college before graduation!
So I call a friend whom I often see on my way back and she was not available due to her busy schedule. So at that point I prayed again asking God’s to send holy angels to get me back home safely. So off I go toward Memphis with a prayer on my lips and a deep breath in my soul because I know “my Redeemer Lives!” So I will just have great fellowship with my Redeemer!
I make a stop to stretch my legs and just get off the interstate briefly! Pretty uneventful! So I go a few more miles and it begins to rain so hard that I was almost unable to see. Usually during these types of rain storms I simply stop for a while because it is so unsfe and difficult to see cars ahead because the tail-lights are so dim up ahead. But- for some reason I had no problem. I kept praying and praising. I even sang a song called, “You are Awesome in this Place Holy God…” I beackoned heaven through my worship!
Well, I stopped one more time to run into the restroom in the rain. I was really refreshing and enlivening as I rain through the rain. I thought to myself…”this should awaken your tired self- after all there was only about one hour left before I’d be home.”
So as I got into the car– I took a deep breath and back out as I prayed! “Lord I believe in divine protection and guidance…Please take me home safely.”
There I was, back on the interstate 40 heading West! I thought to myself..”God’s love, faithfulness and every good thing about God is as far as the East is from the West.” I was excited, but cautious as water sprayed so heavily onto my car I could hardly see!
Well, I sensed an unusual thing. It was as though someone else or something else was guiding my car along the interstate. I thanked God because I knew He was in charge of my journey home. But interestingly enough God wanted me to note that He had sent Angels to get me home. WHY do I say such a thing?
Well, remember I am in that car alone- and I began to feel something pushing my seat from the back- I laughed out loud and put my hand back behind the seat as far as it could reach and I said out loud in the car…”I know no one else is in my car.” So as I reached both hands back on the steering wheel then it happened again. A push on my back seat.
Well, I was not alone obviously in that car! WHAT I sensed was actuality and God had sent divine protection and guidance with me– and in my car.
Oh, as I was almost home driving 40 MPH on that two lane road…to my right- a police guarding the last portion of my journey. I saw that as God was say to my soul…”You are almost home, safely in my care…now Believe more deeply that my Power is upon those who obey my commands.”
“Oh yes Lord, I believe!” and that was my happy comment concerning my trip for the day. God knew I did not want to spend Easter in my car and I believe His Power was so evident along the way that I want to testify to anyone who reads this story that God is alive, powerful and desires fellowship with believers! I want to be God’s friend just like Abraham. I want God to be the forefront of my every thought. How about you?
I believe in “divine protection and guidance!” What about you? Have any questions concerning my experience? Send them via the comment area below this blog!
