Deuteronomy 15:10-12NIV
10- Give generously to him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.
11- There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land.

Early on in the Bible God encourages us to give to the poor people around us. I know when I see a beggar or hear about someone in need first of all I pray, then I ask God to make is possible for me to give something to help them. I always remember we cannot out-give God! He holds the riches in Glory! How wonderful!!!
Re-read the verses above and let God’s plan for you to give generously– sink into the soul concerning “giving generously to the poor.” God said there will always be poor people in the land and that if we give it will return into our hand.
Recently in the dentist office I was reading in a devotional book. There was a story written that I read and reread so I could grasp the full meaning. The story said that a rich man was traveling in his
limousine and he saw a poor beggar by the side of the road. He asked the driver to pull over close to the beggar who was eating a bowl of white rice. The rich man asked the poor man for some of his rice. The poor beggar said he begrudgingly gave the rich man 3 grains of rice. The rich man thanked the beggar for giving and later that day, the beggar was going to eat the rest of his rice before sleeping on the street. He said, “I looked down into the bowl and saw 3 gold shiny coins.” He looked up into the heavens and said, “If I had only given more!”
You can see from this story that we just cannot out give God. His word is so.. 10- Give generously to him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.
When we give generously– He blesses the all our work and everything we put our hand to! Be blessed! Do what scripture tells us to do in the area of giving.

Myra Martin!
Was God talking to you today? About me? I had the worse
battle this morning and last night! I knew just what I needed to give this am at Church and I was scared to death! I know that God has never left me with out food
or any need, but today was really a struggle in my giving back to the Lord.
So I was able to come to grips with it before I left this am. and did as instructed by The Word of God.
It was just that so much went on this weekend in my head about showers, weddings and bill paying and I got afraid. Just thinking about the trip to Vancouver and the
cost etc. of all the little things that were adding up in my mind!
I knew better but still the enemy was at my door step…..
and discouraging me, Thank God! I know His Word and I know and knew the RIGHT THING TO DO!
SO I DID IT!
I am grateful that God used you! to answer my dilemma about what I knew to do, but was afraid to do.
You know I had to get down on my knees and ask god for the strength to get ready for Church and He answered me
and I was gven strength by Him to do the right thing!
Love and many hug’s.
Mary, Mary!
Thanks, Myra. I also can’t help but think what a witness it is to unbelievers when they see Christians giving generously in tough times. And I just love that thought of God’s riches in glory…so far beyond anything we see here. Thanks for sharing…those are good verses and a good story for me to ponder.
