Luke 4:10
10- For it is written:
” ‘He will command his angels concerning you
to guard you carefully;
Day before yesterday on Monday morning our daughter and I drove onto the interstate praying God’s protection upon our 3 hour drive to the Nashville airport. We were tired and it had been a very busy two week Spring break for Kristin.
God was good to us and kept us moving at a safe pace. Finally, we approached Nashville and we were grateful. We had time to run to a store to pick up last minute items for Kristin and we drove by our old house in Nashville and even had a quick lunch.
As I drove into the airport property…our college-aged daughter did not really want to leave. She found great comfort at home and boundless love. But with great reserve she opened the car door and I ran around to help her grab her bag from the back seat and hugged her. For several reasons this was a difficult return to college for her.
I drove off past the airport and got back onto the interstate heading toward Memphis. It was my original plan to stop by a friends house for a brief visit to lay on her floor to rest my aching back. The phone rang about half way to my friends house in Nashville and I heard a disappointing voice, “mom, my plane has been delayed another hour.” Of course I could have turned the car around and head back to the airport, but my goal was to get back to Memphis area before dark.
So I prayed and contemplated just what I needed to do. So I ended up at my friends house burdened and knowing our daughter had to hang out in Nashville alone was not my choice. So I delayed my departure from my friends house until she was in line to board the plane!
Well it was time to drive back to Nashville. It had been a great couple hours at my friends house. We sat outside and watched butterflies flit around and just encouraged one another. So off I am onto the interstate exit, thanking God for working out all things!
I was tired, my backed ached and it was three hours till I could be home. My meditations turned to God! I thanked Him for many things as well as asking His “DIVINE” protection on me as He knew the state of health I was in. I want to thank Him as I write this because He protected me!
I am assured that He sent a mighty army of angels to guide me! You may ask, “how?” Well that is the exciting part of the trip! I felt or sensed peace from above and noted God’s presence the entire drive.
When I finally got to the exit I needed to take to go home; and as soon as I drove over the interstate I was on a two lane peaceful 40 MPH road. It was then I noted “Angels had guarded over my car.” I heard the departure of the Angels…saw a shadow of them on the roadway! They had safely taken me to a very quiet, safe spot near our house. It was indeed a mighty army escorting me home. In my spirit- God said yes- it was my holy angels!
2 Thessalonians 1:6-7
6-God is just: …… 7-and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels.
