A few years ago I attended a conference on how to hire people. They said the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. So in the interviewing don’t ask about their knowledge, philosophies, and opinions. Instead, ask for specific concrete examples of when they have demonstrated the type of behavior you need in an employee. I have learned that what is true of people is also true of God. The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.
The Apostle Paul knew this truth also when he said, “He delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will deliver us again” (2 Corinthians 1:10). Since God had taken care of him in the past, Paul knew God would do the same in the future.
One of the many great things about being a Christian for any length of time is we can look back over the years and see times when God rescued us from our problems. Based on those historical facts we know that God will rescue us in the days to come. Be of good cheer friend, God will do what He has done.
