No one has to tell you that this is traditional the gift buying season. The economic news is less than glorious so this year we may need to use much wisdom when purchasing gifts. In addition we may need to buy less gifts because we need to stay within a certain budget.
If you are like me you love to give! I love finding ways to give gifts, but the economic awakening has caused me to think again and again before sinking money into gifts that may not be used or wanted.
I suppose the best solution is to make a list, pray over that list and pray again when you get to the stores. I always ask God first of all to give me a front parking place, and usually He directs me to one. Secondly I ask God to set my eyes on things that I need and nothing more! I have found this to be unique and freeing!
So this gift-giving/buying season, perhaps you can ask for godly wisdom from above and let your “peeps” know that this Christmas season gift-buying will be a little less but the festivities will remain joyful.
Luke 11:13
“If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
Amy Carmichael said…..”You can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving.”
Giving is a good thing, but give within your budget this year! You will appreciate using wisdom this season if you will balance your giving with your capacity to give!
