We joke about “My Water Therapy!” I have been in charge of the lawn most of the summer. I have learned that mowing is alright as long as the TN humidity is low, otherwise it is a grueling sort of task! In fact I know God’s strength has endured and surrounded me because I actually have “joy in my soul” to be able to mow the lawn.
Of course Mitch and our son have both remarked, “sure wish you would have caught on to mowing a lot sooner!” I also find great joy in watering the lawn. I have jokingly called it my therapy! It seems watering the lawn is the only control I have in life. That is unless the wind blows and I have not control of where those drops of water are landing. I am sure my neighbors think I have flipped because right on schedule I water the lawn every evening.
Water therapy has become such a topic with my family if they call and think I am outside watering they will leave me a message, “I will call your cell phone [which I have with me at all times] because you must be outside doing your water therapy.”
How funny this must sound but I have thanked God for green grass and for strength to endure the race. I continue to have a very high Rheumatoid factor with doctors being very stunned by how well I am doing. I take no medications for it nor do I suffer greatly. Morning fatigue is often pretty grueling but otherwise I know each day is the Lord’s and I know it is He who is my joy and strength! I am told that some people with a rheumatoid factor from blood work- of 12-23 suffer with crippling
rheumatoid arthritis. The rheumatoid factor showing up in my blood work is way over 100 on a normal scale of 0-6– so God seems to be sustaining me for the ministry He intends for me.
Well, water therapy for me is breathing in God’s goodness through His creation, praying for friends, family and praising God! I even hear on occasion creation’s rhythm in one accord singing, “Praise Him, Praise Him!”
So I endure the race set before me as we are in transition! God is great, His goodness and faithfulness are evident every moment of my day!
2 Corinthians 1:5-7
5For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. 6If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. 7And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.
