Have you heard people shout out this statement? “Just leave me alone?” Probably 98% of those people making such a bold statement do not mean what they are saying. However hurting people make these comments out of frustration or out of ignorance. What most people need from us is our time and attention. We are trained to give people their space out of respect. What I believe is that when someone says, “Leave me alone” they simply need a brief time to think and what they really need is to know “someone cares for them.”
What about you? Are you telling people who care for you and love you to; “leave me alone!” If so you know deep within this is not accurate. I often wonder if people who tell God to, “leave me alone” really know what they are shouting? Obviously not, because our Heavenly Father knows what is said or why it is said.
Tune your ears to what people are saying but most importantly think about what you are saying and projecting to others. Say what you mean and if you say, “leave me alone,” don’t be surprised that people may just leave you alone!
Do you really want people to leave you alone in your trials? Do you really want God to leave you alone?
Job 22:16-18
16 They were carried off before their time,
their foundations washed away by a flood.
17 They said to God, ‘Leave us alone!
What can the Almighty do to us?’
18 Yet it was he who filled their houses with good things,
so I stand aloof from the counsel of the wicked.
