J.O.Y.

Someone much more clever than me came up with this simple formula for joy.

  • JESUS first
  • OTHERS second
  • YOURSELF last

But with cute little ditty’s like this we must ask, is this truly biblical or just novel?

What does the Bible say about putting Jesus first?

It says, Jesus is to have “first place in everything.”

It also says we are to “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.

It also says we are to honor the Lord with “the firstfruits” of all our increase.

The Ten Commandments begin by telling us that God does not want to be second to anything or anyone.

Judge for yourself, but it seems pretty clear to me that the Lord wants to be first in our life, in all things. And in my opinion this is the beginning point of true joy and blissfulness.
