Contentment

Wise words by Augustine

Where your pleasure is, there is your treasure;
where your treasure is, there is your heart;
where your heart is, there is your happiness.

Augustine spoke a huge amount of truth! Are you contented today? Are the sorrows of this world heaping discontentment in your life? Today is the day to start thanking God and asking Him to provide for you. However, the world we live is trying to escort us to go into debt, and to seek more and more things!

Happiness is not dependent on this world. Happiness and contentment must be based on the treasures of scripture! If you choose to meditate on scripture you will note the parallel of earthquakes, storms, war and killing! We do live in exciting times, and I am realizing every day that God gives me, that His word, His love and His faithfulness; draws me into a mindset of contentment.

It was just yesterday I was praying and telling God sometimes I am concerned about finances during this time-frame.  I simply talked with God about what is going on in our life and I asked Him to guide us and provide. Today, when Mitch explained an opportunity to read a manuscript[ for a certain amount of money] I knew God was at work and it was God’s provision. I found joy and contentment that God answered prayer.

Psalms 19:8 … “The precepts of the LORD are right,
giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the LORD are radiant,
giving light to the eyes”

Let the following verses in Psalm 58 — become your prayer today.

 Psalm58:10-11

Heavenly Father, I come before you today asking you  to:

“Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.”

How exciting life is — when we are out of control of what He is doing in our lives! We must become co-dependent on God and not the world we live in! Contentment is found in the presence of Christ!
