How’s My Attitude?

Philippians 2:5-8 “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross!”

I was talking to a lady recently and she was telling me how she was feeling guilty because she had not babysat her granddaughter while the mother worked. Of course our discussion was going nowhere– fast!

As the grandmother of the beautiful granddaughter continued her story she was broken-hearted over the child falling at the babysitter and gashing open the flesh just above her upper lip. The child was in obvious pain and at almost two years old; she was very upset!

After a hospital visit, stitches and a scar as long as her upper lip; the entire accident was blown out of proportion. Not only was the mother of the young child upset, the extended family, but half the community was upset that this little child had fallen.

It was an accident, but the attitudes toward the babysitter had become emotionally one-sided and the blame for the entire incident was now being put on the shoulder of the babysitter. Now the entire schedule of this child has changed as mom brings in different family members to babysit.

How about the attitude of blaming someone else?

How about an attitude check-up?

Philippians 2:5-8 says our attitude should be:

1- the same as Christ Jesus

2- that of a servant

3- humble

4- obedient to death

Francis Frangipane said…”I tell you, if you are serious about wanting to be like Christ, He is going to put you in circumstances where your only true choice is to become like Him.”

U can have an UP attitude but people in your neighborhhod can always give u a down attitude with stigma.
God forgives you but PEOPLE do NOT forgive you and constantly make you feel lousey because you are different.
Need bible readings to help over come neighborhood stigma for people that are different.
