When We Pray For One Another….

James 5:16….”Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

There have been many times in my life that others have prayed for me. In fact, there are obvious outcomes that proved God answered their prayers. Just this week I received a note that a friend/writer/speaker was praying specifically because she understood life’s situations and would pray. That energizes me because it is sort of a relief that “someone is praying for the troubles of my soul.”I just want to encourage you to entrust others to pray for you, but more importantly learn to pray! When we pray for others, not only are we exercising our faith in God but we are living a life of grace. Most of the time when we pray for one another God implants an enormous amount of caring.  This is true in my times or seasons of praying for  others.  God just reflects into my soul a compassion for people I pray for.

Connecting ourselves in prayer for one another is vital. We need God’s power in our lives. We must also learn to view others as Christ. The world says, “don’t concern yourself with people, its all about me…” But if you’ve ever been in that position, I’ve heard it is a lonely place.

So today, entrust others to pray for you! Also listen to people around you because their conversations definitely will lead you in how to pray for them even without them asking specifically. Make it a habit to ask people, “how can I pray for you?” You will pray, pray, pray because God answers prayer. And that is very exciting!

Jeremiah 33:2-3…“Thus says the Lord who made the earth, the Lord who formed it to establish it—the Lord is his name: Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.”

Sadhu Sundar Singh said…”Prayer does not mean asking God for all kinds of things we want, it is rather the desire for God Himself, the only Giver of Life.”
