Everybody wants to be a winner, and here’s how:
God’s direction + God’s timing + Our obedience = Victory
When young King David faced the Philistine army he wisely sought the Lord’s leadership. His example gives us a road map for success.
God’s Direction – The Lord answered, “Do not make a front assault. Circle around behind them and attack them opposite the balsam trees.”
God’s Timing – “When you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, act decisively, for then the Lord will have marched out ahead of you to attack the camp of the Philistines.”
Our Obedience – “So David did exactly as the Lord commanded him,”
Victory – “and he struck down the Philistines all the way from Geba to Gezer.”
So what do we have to do to be victorious in life? We have to discern God’s will, be sensitive to His timing, and be fully obedient to His leadership. Following God leads to success.
